Every NOW Is Your Dream Life

by Appio Hunter | Jun 2, 2026

Why the life you’re living right now is exactly where the magic begins.

I’ve learned over time that some messages arrive as revelations, and others as gentle corrections. This one was both.

When this came through, I was filled with doubts about the direction of my life, quietly criticizing myself for not doing more, learning more, creating more. What I received in response was equal parts tender and direct, and it started with my guides doing what they occasionally love to do.

They teased me.

"That's quite the heavy thought, Appio." 😁

I had to laugh because answers don't always arrive solemnly. Sometimes they arrive with a wink. Here's what came through, woven together with my own reflection.

The message was straightforward from the start: the life I live right now is my dream life. My friends, my family, my home, my work, all of it represents the dream life I've created, choice by choice, thought by thought.

I wasn’t expecting that answer because I wasn't thinking of my life right now as my dream life. I was thinking of it as a work in progress, something to be improved upon before it could be celebrated.

I was reminded that there are no restrictions on what we can do or create. All of it happens now, in the present moment. Everything we have, or don't have, right now is the result of decisions and choices we've made. If we're not happy with our lives, the question isn't who to blame. The question is, what are we doing about it?

That's not a harsh judgment. It's a liberating one. The only person responsible for how I live is me. That's not to say that the systems of the world aren't dysfunctional, because they are. But I can still live whatever life I dream for myself. What I think I can do, I can do. Thought always precedes creation. That is a Universal Law.

What really made me pause and think was this: dreams can be nightmares, too.

For example, the person who complains about their circumstances, blames the world, and does nothing is still living their dream life. Every choice we make, every story we tell, creates the life we experience. Directing anger at a person, institution, or system is a choice. Telling stories about why something can't be done is a choice. And those choices shape the dream, for better or worse.

So the question becomes, what can we do to shift from a nightmare into the life we truly envision?

The starting point, as it always seems to be, is gratitude.

Be grateful for what you have right now. You're still alive, so you have your health. Be grateful for that. Do you have a home? Be grateful for that. A job, even one you don't love? Be grateful for that. Rather than being angry about what's missing, turn your attention to what's present. There is only now, and everything we create, we create now. A shift in perspective, even a tiny one, leads to another shift, then another, then another. Every now is your best, dream life.

Your thoughts influence your choices. Your choices influence your actions. Your actions create the life you live.

Once gratitude becomes a habit, something remarkable happens. You start to notice the small, joyful things you'd been walking past without seeing. A colorful flower. A pet doing something that makes you smile. A sunrise. A sunset. The feel of the sun on your skin. A tiny bit of laughter with someone you love.

Our culture feeds us the narrative that only big, grandiose things bring real joy. The flashy car, the designer clothes, the perfectly curated travel photos. But the truth is that it's the small things that bring permanent, lasting joy, because you can find them in every single moment. Once you open yourself to gratitude, and then to the small joys, you start to hear something underneath it all.

The call of your heart.

And your heart always guides you toward more of what you already love.

You start to think, "I think I'd enjoy trying that," or "I'm going to see what happens if I do this." You may listen to others’ ideas and suggestions, picking up flashes of inspiration along the way. That’s great! Just be mindful not to follow every system or idea pitched to you, unless your heart tells you, "hell, yes!" Even then, pay attention to what feels good and discard what doesn't. Your path is your own. Pick what works, do what feels best, and get rid of the rest.

Your feelings are your guidance system. They emanate from your heart, so listen to them. Pay close attention to them. Do what feels most joyful, even if that feeling is just a whisper.

The nightmare can end. Your present choices, stories, and decisions are what create the dream you live right now.

Which dream life do you choose?

Be well. Be joyous. Be grateful. Always.

With love, Appio 🌿
