Finding beauty and truth in life’s messiest moments.
Life, in all its glorious chaos, rarely unfolds the way we plan. It rips up the playbook, colors outside the lines, and sometimes looks more like a tangled sketch than a polished painting. But here’s the hidden truth: what we often call a “mess” is simply creation in motion. Every detour, every stumble, every so-called mistake is brushwork on the canvas of a greater masterpiece.
This channeled message came to me recently, and it carried an extraordinary reminder—that joy, humor, and trust transform the messes of life into something radiant. What felt like a distraction was actually a direction. What looked like a delay was quiet preparation. And what seemed like a “messterpiece” was, in truth, a masterpiece waiting to be revealed.
Although the words were channeled in response to a personal question, I chose to share them here because I believe the message can be applied to all of us.
The Channeled Message
Good evening. Trust that wherever you are on your path is exactly where you are meant to be. Your path, or the path of any human, was never meant to be a linear one. Every distraction, every event that seemingly presents itself as an obstacle or derailing of your purpose and your desire to live it, is divinely orchestrated to help you do exactly what you desire.
As you yourself have said, “What starts off looking like a ‘messterpiece’ eventually becomes a masterpiece when you step back and look at it from a broader perspective.”
Those aren’t the exact words you used, but that is how we would state it.
You have been following your greatest joy by dedicating time and energy to the book you have wanted to publish for your entire adult life. The time you devote to your book and building out the world in which it is set is not wasted. It is time well spent on doing your greatest good. It is when you are most excited that your inner light shines most brightly, and you are present for the people whom you love the most.
You express inner concerns about hyper-focusing, being too distracted, or being lost in your project. We encourage you to take a step back and view your beloved work from a broader perspective. You have spent years training yourself to be present in whatever you are doing. While you think you fail miserably at being present, you are more present than you give yourself credit for. You actively seek to release the thoughts that distract you, and you make a conscious, mindful effort to keep your attention on what you are doing without feeling resentful.
That is huge progress, Appio. Only two and a half years ago, you harbored unspoken resentment toward anyone who pulled you away from a project you wanted to devote your time to. You may not have said anything, but the people around you felt the energy you radiated. It wasn’t necessary to speak.
Now, you mindfully focus your attention wherever it is needed. You have learned to balance needs and desires without resentment. You can pursue your passion projects joyously and set them aside as necessary. You reached this point through your choices; by accepting the help offered to you, and doing the work to understand yourself and the physiological and emotional challenges that held you back. This was a team effort, but you did the work to help us help you.
The perceived messiness of human life is, in fact, a harmonious symphony of events that always result in the outcomes where you focus your attention.
Continue to do what inspires and excites you the most. Take inspired action and trust that the path you are taking is the exact path that is best for you and those you love.
Closing Reflection
As I reflected on the message, I realized how often I’ve judged my own journey by other people’s metrics—speed, neatness, productivity. Yet Spirit gently reminds me that my so-called “messes” are sacred strokes of artistry, shaping me in ways I can’t always see in the moment.
A messterpiece only looks messy up close. Step back, and the broader perspective reveals a masterpiece in the making.
A Personal Note from Me
As I’ve said repeatedly, I’m on this journey with you. Yes, it’s both exciting and messy, but I choose to laugh at the chaos, honor the detours, and celebrate the joy of being me. After all, if my life is a work of art, then every color, every line—no matter how imperfect—is part of its beauty.
With love,
Appio 🌿

Where are you tempted to see only chaos, distraction, or delay?
I invite you to pause, breathe, and step back. Look with softer eyes. What if the very thing that feels like a mess is actually shaping you into the masterpiece you’re becoming?
Your joy, your passions, your presence—they are not distractions. They are your highest good in action. So lean in. Trust the detours. Celebrate the small steps. And remember: the masterpiece is already there. You are simply unveiling it, one brushstroke at a time.
